Ramla Bay, Gozo

Gozo's biggest sandy beach with stunning cliffs, but rocky entry and summer crowds are real issues.

The local verdict

Worth visiting for the scenery and sand, but only if you can get there early or go in shoulder season. In July-August peak hours, it's a packed tourist trap that loses its appeal.

Wind & sea conditions

Arrive before 9am in peak season for parking and to avoid the crush. Bring water shoes for the rocky seabed, locals do, and it makes entry much easier than struggling in bare feet.

Common mistakes

Underestimating parking difficulty and showing up mid-morning in summer only to circle for 20+ minutes. Many also assume sandy beach means easy entry and wade in unprepared for rocks, then spend their time limping back out.
