Four days in Malta in November, for a group.
Thursday 26 November to Sunday 29 November · relaxed pace
A real plan from our planner, made for a group staying in Buġibba who like beaches and history, getting around by bus, ferry and taxi at a relaxed pace, with an evening flight on the last day. Every stop and meal below came out of the planner for these dates, and none was moved by hand. This plan stays on Malta, so Gozo and Comino are not in it. The planner leaves swimming stops out in November, so there is no beach day.
Your arrival day unfolds on the north coast, starting with the bags going to your accommodation in Bugibba before you head out. The afternoon moves from a clifftop tower above Mellieħa, down into the village for coffee, and finally to the bay at St Paul's, where the light turns golden over the water.
Getting there
~10:00 · Land + airport transfer
Your activities3 stops · ~2h 15m
Open 10:00 to 17:00
About 15 min to the next stop
Allow about 45 minutes. The tower interior and roof are open Monday to Saturday for a small fee, and the clifftop itself has no set hours, so you can simply walk the circuit.
You wanted breathing room and a bit of history, and the Red Tower gives you both on a quiet clifftop above Mellieħa, with the whole north coast and Gozo spread out below.
About 15 min to the next stop
Mellieħa village is where you see everyday Maltese life away from the beach, with a parish church, quiet squares and a coffee on the main square that suits a slower afternoon.
The coastal path at Wignacourt Tower looks across to St Paul's Islands, where tradition places St Paul's shipwreck in 60 AD, and it is a fitting place to watch the light change over the bay as your first evening settles in.
